Carpisa is one of the brands of the Italian company Kuvera SpA, it was founded in 2021 and since then it has become a leader in the sector of handbags, bags and fashion accessories being a reference in quality and fair price.
In a short time, Carpisa developed its franchise network that already has more than 350 points of sale in Italy and this is due to an entrepreneurial management that projected the Carpisa brand in the world of franchising, basing its success on customer-focused values and research and development of products that enhance the Italian style and creativity.
The Scenario
The e-commerce market in Italy is a developing one, and although the representativeness of online commerce is smaller than in other European countries, Italy has one of the fastest growing markets with more than 15% by 2020.
By 2020, companies that relied partly or wholly on digital channels saw revenues and activities related to e-commerce increase significantly.
Between 2020 and 2021 the fashion, food and personal care sectors, identified new types of consumers, such as the contemporary consumer, fast shoppers, offline shopper, omnichannel shopper and digital first. All these profiles contributed to the change in strategy of many brands that are adapting their digital channels to meet the needs of these new consumers.
Carpisa has always valued the strengthening of the corporate image and expansion of the brand inside and outside Italy, so it constantly invests in innovation in its sales channels, which includes its online store. Thus, the brand sought our assistance to develop its e-commerce on a new platform, aiming at scalability and the possibilities of structuring its omnichannel strategy.
The project
The technology chosen for the project was VTEX IO platformwhich is a cloud development framework that provides an exclusive microservices architecture and allows building high quality web software at a low cost. In addition, the VTEX platform has a complete structure to unify all sales channels, allowing the integration and building of unique experiences for the brand's user, providing the necessary support with omnichannel functionalities.
This project was developed in an MVP methodology to be a fast to market solution, being idealized and developed in 5 weeks, a record time for the complexity level of the project. The project had the objective of migrating the fast site from an Open Source platform to a SaaS platform, the choice for the change was due to several factors, including maintenance cost.
We developed the entire project from scratch, from the creation of the design, architecture, operation, development, QA and delivery. We used a modern and clean design aiming the performance and usability of the new site, as well as features widely used in fashion e-commerce, such as:
- SKU color selector on the department page;
- Terms of use checkbox;
- Customized and adaptable checkout for other languages;
- Implementation of localization stepper;
- Addition of new business rules for shopping in different bindings.
The result
Carpisa's new e-commerce had its go-live in just 5 weeks after the project development started. We delivered a clean design site that highlights the brand's products, with intuitive usability making the user experience more fluid, besides being a highly performant site.
The choice of platform positively impacted the structuring of the brand's omnichannel strategy, since it has all the necessary structure to unify its channels.
When we talk about performance, the site presents great results in the main metrics, such as Indexation Speed with loading time of 1.2 seconds, First Content loading in 1.2 seconds, and Largest Contentful Paint loading in 2.3 seconds, besides having an SEO score of 100.
