The Scenario
In Italy, e-commerce is constantly evolving, and in 2020 alone it achieved 15% growth, an interesting representation when compared with other countries in Europe.
By 2020, companies that depended partially or totally on digital channels saw revenues and activities related to e-commerce increase significantly. Therefore, visionary brands are increasingly investing in innovative technologies that enable the expansion of digital channels as well as the unification of offline and online sales channels.
Jaked is a brand that has in its DNA high technology in its products and the investment in its online channels was necessary both for future expansion plans, and to improve the consumer experience, which has been getting new online shopping habits. Therefore, the brand sought our assistance to develop its e-commerce on a new platform, mainly aiming at a short development period and a structure that could support its scalability plans.
The project
The project aimed at transforming the info-commerce used by the brand into a complete e-commerce as soon as possible. The technology chosen for the project was the VTEX IO platform, which is a cloud development framework that provides an exclusive microservices architecture and allows building high quality web software at a low cost. In addition, the VTEX platform has a complete structure to unify all sales channels, and solutions that aim for agility in the go-live of the project becoming the best option for Jaked.
We aligned the development of the e-commerce with a fast solution based on the theme store of the VTEX platform, to reduce the development time allowing the brand to start selling its products online in about two weeks.
The idea is that after the go-live, our team will work on the launch of V2, which will have greater complexity and a more robust structure.
The result
Jaked's new e-commerce had its go-live in just 2 weeks after the beginning of the project development. We delivered V1 with a standard theme and easy usability without losing performance qualities.
The choice of platform impacted positively on the complete structure to unify all sales channels, allowing integration and building unique experiences.
When we talk about performance, the site presents great results in the main metrics, such as Indexation Speed with loading time of 3.9 seconds, First Content loading in 0.6 seconds, Largest Contentful Paint loading in 0.9 seconds and Cumulative Layout Shift in 0.127, besides having an SEO score of 100.
